Hometown Moon
Hometown Moon
by Mark Renz
There's a hometown moon
shining on the banks of the Okeechobee
the crickets I hear and the frogs that cheer
sure sound familiar to me
yeah they sound so familiar to me
'Cause I'm a hometown boy
I've been around the world, now I'm back again
but I ain't never seen
a light that could shine on me
like my hometown moon
There's a hometown moon
lighting up the lines on the highway
The rivers I cross and the people I see
sure look familiar to me
yeah they look so familiar to me
You can carve your initials on the Queen Mary
as she sets sail in space
But you'll never feel like you belong
Till you're back here in this place
And I'm a hometown boy
I've been around the world, now I'm back again
but I ain't never seen
a light that could shine on me
like my hometown moon
