An Australian cattle dog was arrested in a Florida river for trying to herd sea cows (manatees) while paddling a kayak.
"I don't know what the big deal is," argued Taz Renz. "Those manatees were going every which way. They needed some order and discipline, and hey, I was just doing my job!" A spokesperson at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission said cattle dogs are not above the law. “Manatee Park is not the Ok Coral,” he stressed. “That dog had no business trying to herd those seacows!"
Taz was fined two time-outs and has to conduct community service at the local animal shelter. Taz's nephew Darwin could not be reached for comment.
